Tomb Raider Underworld
History
Tomb Raider Underworld got an improved game engine, making Lara move much more naturally with her environments. When running through bushes she would push her hands through them, when jumping in dirt her outfit and herself got dirtier, and for the first time in 5 years players were able to once again sprint. Underworld also launched with much better graphics, for a much better story.

Beneath the Ashes and Lara's Shadow
In early 2009, at the height of Tomb Raider Underworld's success, two Xbox 360 DLC mission's were released on the Xbox Marketplace for fans to buy and play. Beneath the Ashes was released in February whilst Lara's Shadow acted as an event that happened parallel to Beneath the Ashes, though it wasn't released until the following month. Both mission's follow the Underworld story, and one of the mission's was played as Lara's evil doppelganger for the first time.
